What to Expect

What to Expect

What to Expect at your first visit

You’ll be greeted by our friendly front desk staff, then escorted by Sue, our Treatment Coordinator to our new patient room. We’ll take a panoramic x-ray and give you a brief tour.

Dr. Lanzetta will perform a dental and facial orthodontic examination. This usually takes less than 10 minutes. He will then summarize his findings and explain to you:

  • What orthodontic problems you have. What type of treatment is recommended and what options are available.
  • When is the best time to start, and how long it might take.
  • How much it would cost, including financial options.

There is never any pressure to start. You are free to take our information home and decide whenever you are ready. Questions are always encouraged, as are second opinions.

If you do decide to start, your next visit will involve taking records (impressions of your teeth, photographs, and x-rays). Dr. Lanzetta will use these records to develop a personalized treatment plan. If time permits, we may be able to take records on your first visit.

Regular Appointments

For full treatment, the appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes from one to two hours. You'll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 8 weeks apart for adjustments, which take 20 to 40 minutes. Our regular office hours are Monday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, and Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately so we can offer your time to another.

Payment & Office Policies

We don't want finances to stand in the way of a healthy smile. There is never a charge for the first visit, and we offer various flexible payment plans. The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. Your quoted fee represents the entire amount, with no hidden fees or extra charges for visits or adjustments. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets, including a no-down-payment option. As a convenience, we will process your insurance claims for you. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.

  • If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we offer a discount. We also have discounts for more than one family member in treatment.
  • To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.
  • For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA and MASTERCARD, and Care Credit.

Insurance

If you have insurance, we will help you to determine your coverage. Although we will help in every way we can in filing your claim and collecting your insurance benefit, please note that you are ultimately responsible for whatever your insurance might not pay.
